What is Counsel and what does the member experience look like?
Counsel provides members unlimited access to message expert physicians who can diagnose, prescribe, and refer them to the right care.
When members need medical support, from urgent concerns to everyday health decisions, they can call or message a Counsel physician. Our physicians will then provide personalized medical guidance, referrals, and prescriptions within minutes and follow-up until the concern is resolved.What is Counsel for Startups?
Counsel for Startups is a concierge medical benefit that's available for free to both the company, as well as their employees and adult dependents. Through this benefit, eligible members can message Counsel physicians and receive a personalized response within minutes. This covers everything from urgent concerns and second opinions to prescriptions and recommended lifestyle changes to prioritize longevity. Counsel is not currently available for international employees. Companies enrolled in Counsel for Startups will receive access to Counsel at no cost to both your organization and employees.
Why is Counsel offering this program?
Being a startup ourselves, we understand the difficulty of offering employee benefits that work with busy schedules. We want to give back to the startup community and offer a service that’s at no cost and adds zero stress, as we’ll take care of all of the heavy lifting through implementation.
How long can we use this benefit?
Counsel for Startups is available indefinitely until the organization surpasses 1,000 employees.

Counsel physicians provide care across all medical topics.

Yes! Counsel for Startups is available at no cost to your organization and your employees. If we write a prescription or recommend in-person care, there may be an insurance-determined cost to the member. Otherwise, participation is completely free!
Is Counsel a chatbot?
No, your members will always be speaking with a real, experienced Counsel physician who is board-certified and trained to provide expert medical advice.
What if in-person care is needed?
If an in-person visit is needed, Counsel can guide members to the best next step–whether that’s seeing their primary care doctor, visiting an urgent care center, or another option. Counsel will be there every step of the way.
